About The Workshop

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2020 the Nottingham Mindfulness Group will be hosting a two day Retreat, 'The Power of Attention', held amid the stunning natural beauty of Hexgreave Hall and its grounds in the north of the county - with both days led by celebrated American meditation teacher Sarah McLean.

This is a unique opportunity to directly experience Sarah's teaching - which is noted for its exceptionally warm and engaging style and its in-depth knowledge of meditation practices - while also taking part in two full days of blissful mediation, gentle relaxation, and intense serenity amongst the unspoilt countryside, gardens and ancient woodland of Hexgreave Hall.

The fun, profound and interactive learning delivered over these two days will:

  • Explore how mindfulness helps us to garner the power of your attention
  • Allow us to discover the value of mono-tasking and how to be more efficient and effective
  • Teach us to pay attention to our attention, and inquire into its source
  • Help us to dive deep into meditation and Mindfulness practices including walking meditation, eating meditation, breath and body awareness, and self-inquiry
  • Enable us to directly experience mindful communication practices
The Retreat days will each run from 10.30am through to approximately 4.30pm, although on each day all participants will rendezvous earlier in the city centre (at 9am) to have a coffee together and then travel on as a group to Hexgreave Hall. (Similarly, everyone will travel back together to Nottingham in the evenings, arriving back in the city centre at around 5.30pm.) Lifts will be arranged for those who do not drive (see details below).

The full price for the two full days is £85 per person.

About The Venue

Hexgreave Hall is a beautiful former stately home (once belonging to the Archbishops of York as a hunting lodge, later becoming the home of a Sheffield steel magnate.) Today the Hall and its estate are run as a conference and events venue, and as a thriving business centre supporting local SMEs.

The Hall itself sits in extensive gardens, spacious park and woodland, and it still has a deer park. The location is tranquil and serene, being enveloped in truly stunning countryside and breathtaking nature.
